Baby Registry Must Haves

We are getting so close to the end of this pregnancy, and I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite baby registry items!  Please know that I’m not an expert (First Baby Club Member over here), but I found registering for gifts to be so overwhelming!  I couldn’t believe the list they gave us at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond, and I knew I didn’t want to fill my house up with a bunch of stuff I wouldn’t use.  I narrowed it down to our top 15 items on our list, and please comment if you can think of a baby item you couldn’t live without!

BABY REGISTRY BASICS

1:  Chicco Bravo Travel System

I knew this would be the first thing I wanted to add to our baby registry.  I can’t even count how many reviews I read, or how many car seat safety sites I visited.  When we went to register, I had it narrowed down to a few brands, and then based my final decision on comfort, convenience, and weight.  My favorite feature of the Chicco system is the carseat base.  Chicco has awesome locking clips, that are super easy to click in and out of the car, but totally safe too!  I’ve moved a few carseats, and the locking clips really made the decision for me!

2.  Learning Blocks

As far as toys go, I wanted to keep things to a minimum.  Our dog has way more toys than he could ever play with, and they just end up laying all over my living room floor.  I chose a few toys, and tried to keep it to strictly learning toys (and toys that don’t make too much noise :).  I’m sure we will have several toys over the coming years, and I would rather have the necessities than toys.

3.  Ingenuity Baby Base

I had it set in my mind that we would register for a Bumbo, but after looking at the Ingenuity Baby Base I changed my mind.  It is actually costs slightly less than a Bumbo, and it grows with your baby.  I like the tray feature, as well as the straps so you can anchor it to a chair.

4.  Safety Latches

I’m not a fan of going crazy with baby proofing our entire house, but I’m also not a fan of my baby eating dish soap.  I decided we will lock any cupboards with any type of hazardous products, but as far as the Tuperware drawer, it’s free game!

5.  Diaper Genie Complete

I’m a huge fan of diaper genies, because I hate the stink of diapers!  Plus, this Diaper Genie comes in 4 different colors, so I went with the soft pink to match her room!

6.  Safety Kit

There’s a few items in this kit that I’m not a huge fan of, but I wanted us to have a base kit of everything we could possibly need.  I would hate to send my husband to Walmart in the middle of the night to get a baby finger nail clipper, so it’s nice to have the basics!

7.  Books

I’m a HUGE advocate for reading, and reading to your kids from a young age!  I would much rather see books than toys in the baby’s room, so we put a couple of starter books on our list, and I’m sure our collection will grow fast!

8.  Baby Monitor

I was fairly picky when deciding between baby monitors, because the baby’s room is upstairs, and our room is on the main floor.  I wanted to make sure we had a video screen, so I could see if I actually needed to go upstairs in the middle of the night, or wait and see if they could put themselves back to sleep.

9 & 10:  Baby Towel & Baby Wash Cloths

These two items go together, and I found them at Bed, Bath & Beyond.  The towel is super plush, and the baby wash cloths are Burt’s Bees brand and super soft as well.  Besides, nothing is more adorable than a baby wrapped up after a bath!

11.  MamaRoo Infant Seat

I saw these on Ellen probably 3 years ago, and thought they were the coolest thing ever!  Then we went to complete our baby registry and I about died when I saw the price.  Regardless, we ended up going this route due to space.  Our living room is tiny, and a bigger swing would just take up too much room.  I’m holding on to my 20% off coupon for this item!

12.  WubbaNub

I don’t have any problem with using a pacifier, and these WubbaNub’s are just too cute to pass up on!  Plus, they’re easier to find with a stuffed animal attached to them when the dog hides them under the couch!

13.  Travel Bottle Warmer

I’m super excited for this item!  We plan to exclusively breast feed, so having an option to warm bottles on the go was a must.  Plus, these are super afordable!

14.  Swaddle Blankets

I’m so looking forward to swaddling our little one with these blankets.  I’ve used just plain receiving blankets in the past with nieces and nephews, and these look super easy and convenient!  Especially during those late night diaper changes.

15.  Ingenuity Trio 3-in-1 Chair

There were a million high chairs to choose from, and we settled on this 3-in-1 chair.  You can attach the booster to a regular chair, and you can also use the stand as a high booster seat as your child grows.

I hope you find this helpful when planning your baby registry, and if you have any pointers or tips for me please let me know!  Picking out baby gear can be so stressful, so let’s stick together, Mommas!
