Letting Go

2-corinthians-12-10

How many times in your life have you felt a physical weight on your chest that you couldn’t bear?  Maybe you were pinned down on the playground as a child, or tried to move something a little too heavy and it trapped you beneath.  When something (or someone) puts so much weight on your body that you can’t handle it, you would likely call for help and someone would likely come and remove that weight (or person).

How many times in your life have you felt and emotional weight on your chest that you couldn’t bear?  If you’re like me, it’s probably more times than you have been trapped beneath a physical weight.  However, it seems like it is harder to call for help with we are trapped by an emotional situation that we can’t seem to get out of.  Sometimes we think we can find a way to handle it on our own, and other times we might be embarrassed to share our problems, but in all situations and circumstances, we can always call on God.  In 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10 it says, “9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships,in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

God’s grace is sufficient for our biggest problems, failures, and weaknesses.  In fact, he delights in those times, because that is when we can truly feel His strength.  Instead of hiding behind our problems, boast them to the Lord through prayer.  You will find true power and grace in his undenying redemption.

Today, I want you to let go of whatever weight is holding you down, and let God spread his healing power in your life.
