Apothecary Canisters- Inspired by Joanna Gaines

I’ve been meaning to update our canisters on our kitchen counter for some time now.  When I came across these at Magnolia Market, I just couldn’t pass them up.  They were in my price range of what I wanted to spend, and I know Magnolia carries high quality products so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.

As much as I love how simple these are, I wanted to add a little farmhouse character to them.   I grabbed some clear Avery labels on Amazon and typed up some labels to put on the jars.  I chose to put all purpose flour, white sugar, and baking soda in my canisters.

For our house, I chose to display these on our counter, but they would also be handy to use for storing dry goods in a pantry.  Another route I considered going was chalk board tags (you can find them HERE).  To be honest, you do see a film on the clear labels, and I was hoping for more of a transparent look.  Maybe I’ll update them in the future with chalk board tags!

This was such a simple DIY, and really adds a little extra farmhouse charm to our home!

UPDATE: We recently redid our kitchen, and these canisters are still holding strong!  While we didn’t do a full remodel, we did add new counter tops, a few new appliances, and decor pieces.  Our total budget was less than $1,500!  To see the full remodel, visit the post HERE.
